Here is the schedule that we will follow for the Thanksgiving Round Robin Day.  We will start off by doing the craft/activity in our homerooms and then allow about 2 minutes for switching and starting a new class. Parents are welcome to come during specials to set up for the feast.

Our fourth grade play is coming along beautifully. The kids are working so hard. In effort to arrange for them to have the stage for rehearsal, our specials time will be moved to the end of the day for the next two weeks. Please note the new time: 2:00-2:55.

We also have a new policy in effect regarding birthday treats. You may continue to join your child for lunch to celebrate his/her birthday and send treats to share with the homebase class. Those treats may then be shared and eaten during the last five instructional minutes of the day. This is in accordance with Texas nutritional law.

What drives you batty? That's a question students brainstormed and wrote about last week. Answers were creative and telling, for sure! This assignment was fun for all; but, most of all, it helped prepare us for a shift in our writing. 
We've spent the first quarter of the year writing personal narratives- writing stories about important small moments in our lives. This quarter, we shift to writing expository essay where we will create a central idea (thesis) and support it with organized paragraphs full of relevant details. 
4th graders are pretty amazing! We're going to blow this one right out of the water!
