Dear Parents,
We are eagerly looking forward to our Thanksgiving Feasts here at Coulson Tough. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the feasts and be safe at the same time. Please remember that there are children in our classroom who have life-threatening food allergies. Any food brought in for the feast (or at any other time), should NOT contain any type of nuts or peanuts. CHIK-FIL-A PRODUCTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE FRIED IN PEANUT OIL Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact me or Nurse Cyndi at 281-465-5905. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Mrs. Martinez Over the past few weeks, students have been working with compound sentences and plural nouns. Tomorrow they will be assessed. This comprehensive test will include capitalization questions, a forming compound sentences activity, and a section using plural rules to create analogies.
Students should use their capitalization rules page, plural word list, and human sentence practice to study this evening. Wow! You are at the pinnacle of all your hard work and practice! The week of the 4th grade play has finally arrived!
Performance times are: Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Thursday at 7:00 p.m. REMINDER: Costumes are due Tuesday, November 13th for a dress rehearsal. If you forget a piece, bring it for Wednesday's performance. I can't wait to see the big show! Dear Student,
Our Wednesday homework is designed as a formative assessment. There are no wrong answers. We want to learn what you know about expository writing. Your essay will show us what you already know (and do well) and what we need to teach you (where you need to grow). Use all the writing skills that you remember from 3rd grade. Think about the good writing that you have observed in your own reading. As always, do your very best. We can't wait to read your essay! Living wide awake, Mrs. Martinez ♥ Mrs. McCarroll Expository Essay Cold Write- due Thursday An expository composition is written to inform the reader. It explains your thoughts and perspectives about a subject. This type of writing always has a central idea. Writers use examples and elaboration to support their idea. Read the prompt below. On a lined sheet of paper, write a composition in response. Do your very best! Read November is a month of Thanksgiving. We all have something to be thankful for. Think Think about someone or something in your life that you are thankful for. Write Write a composition to explain why you are thankful for this particular person or thing. As you write, be sure to: -clearly state your central idea -organize your writing -develop your ideas in detail -use correct capitalization, punctuation, spelling, grammar, and sentences Our play performance is just around the corner! In order to maximize our practices, we have switched specials times with second grade. Beginning Monday, November 5th, my conference time and students' fine arts and P.E. block will be scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 2:55 p.m. We will resume our normal specials schedule after the November 15th play performance.
I look forward to seeing your family soon. We'll have plenty of opportunities during the month of November. Click here to link to the month's upcoming events. Coulson Tough Titans are teaming up with Moms Helping Moms Texas to help clothe area children in need.
Participating is simple. Collect new or like new jeans/pants. All sizes are needed- not just kids. You can ask family and neighbors to participate too. Put like new clothing in a bag and label "Fourth Grade". Then, bring the bag to school and drop it in the fourth grade collection box anytime through November 7th. Thanks in advance for making a difference this season! |
