A Letter from Your Teacher...
August 1, 2013
Dear Fourth Grader,
My name is Mrs. Meg Martinez. I have the privilege of teaching you language arts and science this year.
I am originally from the Chicago area and moved to The Woodlands with my family six and a half years ago. My husband and I have been married for 16 years. We have two children: Madeline, 13, and Ben, 12.
If you were to visit our home, you'd probably find us gearing up for a youth group activity, playing a board game, or shooting a game of H-O-R-S-E in the driveway. We also enjoy cooking, reading, and watching movies together as a family. I just love being their mom!
When I have time to myself, I like to read, garden, listen to music, and meet friends for coffee. Taking long walks, writing in my journal, and helping others are also a few of my favorite activities. I think that I have the best job in the world because I just love being a teacher!
Fourth grade is definitely my favorite. You are going to grow as a reader and writer this year, and I'll be there with you every step of the way. If you ever have any trouble understanding something or think a concept is tricky, you can always come to me. Letting your teacher know you need help is a smart thing to do.
Throughout the year, we'll have lots of fun learning about writing, science, and about each other. I am so excited about this school year! I can't wait to hear your ideas, read your writing, and watch you grow. See you in class!
Happy Reading,
Mrs. Martinez
